从《桃花源记》的翻译看林语堂的翻译美学开题报告

1. 研究目的与意义

Lin Yutang is an outstanding writer, philosopher, linguist and humorist. His works have been translated into many different foreign languages and have been published in various countries, which have a tremendous impact across the world. And just because of his solid understanding of Eastern and Western cultures and the skillful mastery of the English language, he has the ability to perform well in both Chinese and English languages. It laid a solid foundation for his accomplishments in terms of translation. As a result, Lin Yutang created a lot of good works. In 1933, Lin Yutang published the text---#8220;On Translation#8221;. In this paper, the author put forward clearly his own translation aesthetic criteria ---#8220;faithfulness, fluency and aesthetic quality#8221;. So the aesthetics of translation that Lin Yutang pursued is part of the category of literary aesthetics. Lin Yutang stated very clearly that translator still need to pay attention on aesthetic in addition to practicability. The ideal translator should take their job as doing one kind of art. Translation Aesthetics is one of a discipline which is worthy of study. It views translation from the aesthetic perspective, interprets translation with the aesthetic point and guides translation with the aesthetic ideology. Aesthetics is the study of beauty and our response to them. The aesthetics translate theory is a cross-righteous discipline that introduces aesthetics into translation. Aesthetics and Translation has a bond, either in theory or in practice. Aesthetics has a profound significance to the development of translation.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

2.1 research contents Three issues will be studied in this paper. (1) The first issue of this paperis to state what translation aesthetics and aesthetic representation are, and give a general introduction of them which includes the development, main means, rulers and merits of the theory, and the status quo of the theory. (2) The second issue of this paper is to do further research in Lin Yutang#8217;s translation aesthetic criteria through his translation of Tao Yuanming#8217;s The peach colony, sentence by sentence. (3) The third issue of this paper is to apply the strategies of aesthetic representation to analyze Lin Yutang#8217;s works from the perspective of translation aesthetics. 2.2 Measures to be Taken (1) Being familiar with translation aesthetics (2) Being familiar with representation aesthetic means (3) Being familiar with Lin Yutang#8217;s translation aesthetic criteria (4) Doing further research in Lin Yutang#8217;s translation aesthetic criteria through Lin Yutang#8217;s translation of Tao Yuanming#8217;s The peach colony. 2.3Writing outline: I. 3. 国内外研究现状

Influence on Western aesthetic translation theory though and the impact on China''s translation theory, but, historically, prior to entering the Western modern linguistics translation theory, translation theory and western aesthetics forged a bond. Translation Aesthetics is not a new topic, the researchers want to make a breakthrough and innovation on the translation of Aesthetic theory itself must seize the characteristics and requirements to be construction, should remain in the traditional aesthetic rhetorical level, but should in theory aesthetic shape or form of categorization on accomplish something.
