3. 国内外研究现状

Tess of the D#8217;urbervilles ,published in 1891, is Thomas Hardy#8217;s most significant work. Since its advent, the scholars from home and abroad have conducted enormous studies of it from ecofeminism. In An analysis of Hardy#8217;s Ecofeminism, Zhang haiyan pointed out that through the image of an oppressed woman, Thomas Hardy showed his sympathy to women and critique of patriarchy, which is of value to the later prosperous development of ecofeminist literature. Also, in Study on ecofeminism in Tess of the D#8217;urbervilles, Wu xiaomei said that the fit between Tess and the nature reflected that women are easier to integrate with nature in both soul and spirit.

In Review of the Tess of the D'urbervilles, Mars think that Mr Hardy is telling us of a pure woman, which is his flag or trumpet, so as to speak, of defiance upon certain matters, to the ordinary world. In Ecofeminism: Women, Animal, Nature, Gruen, Lori said that Tess, a woman whom Hardy presents as a sort of Wessex Eve, is in harmony with the natural world.
