The movie My Fair Lady, adapted from George Bernard Shaw#8217;s classic five-act play, Pygmalion, is about how a poor flower girl becomes a graceful lady by changing her language with the help of a linguist. In a dramatic way, the movie demonstrates the importance of language as a symbol of social identity and the great influence language on a person#8217;s fate. There are also other study about the language in My Fair Lady, such as The Making of My Fair Lady(1998) written by Keith Garebian and Loverly: The Life and Times of My Fair Lady (2012) written by Dominic McHugh.

My Fair Lady is one of the earliest western musical movies in China. There are some scholars studying on this movie.
