1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

OBJECTIVE: In the process of English learning, when read the news written by journalists from different countries, it can be easily found that the expressions of foreign English articles are often different from the expressions of English articles written by domestic journalists. This difference may come from a variety of different reasons, such as language habits, thinking patterns, and so on. The differences in the words usage of the article may also be caused by the attitudes and political perspectives of events from people in different countries. These differences are likely to trigger to enormous English learning problems.

First of all, the different habits of using terminology in the article may lead to the difficulty of reaching the audience in other countries(foreign subscribers and international Chinese who do not speak Chinese) when they read the article written by the domestic authors and it is also hard for them to fully understand the main ideas in the article and enable the article to resonate with these special people. At the same time, domestic authors' articles are also difficult to attract foreign Chinese audiences and foreigners who may be interested in China, and the articles are difficult to be recognized by them. Only by analyzing the different habits of the usage of words in the articles of the same event by domestic and foreign authors, and changing the expression of Chinese expressions in Chinese authors can realize the meaning of writing these English news in China, so that foreign audiences can understand the news smoothly.

Secondly, through analysis and understanding of the differences in the article, English learners can intuitively recognize the difference between Chinese thinking and foreign thinking patterns. Furthermore, the misunderstanding caused by Chinese thinking can be found and understood by English learners who may fall into these errors in writing articles in English. This is very important for future language learning since after learning these common misunderstandings, English learners can be more effective in avoiding the problems of Chinese English, so that the English used by learners can be more pure. Finally, after fully understanding the English thinking and the common mistakes that Chinese English learners may make in the writing of the article, these English learners can truly master the international language of English.

2. 研究的基本内容与方案

Basic content: The article mainly studies the English news terms of both sides in the Sino-US trade war incident and finds out their differences in order to analyze the differences of Chinese and foreign wording, thinking patterns and different attitudes towards the same event and find out the main factors that the influence of these differences to the expressions in writing articles. The essay mainly focuses on the news reports on China daily, USA Today and Washington Posts, through the different sentence expressions of the article on the objective description of the Sino-US trade war, the different degrees of word use and the frequency of emergence of hot words. And then, accumulate the data to study the reasons for different cultural sources. These process can be conduct to eliminate the inconsistencies between the two sides in order to enhance communication and understanding between the two sides.

Objective: The main target is to find out the reasons for the differences of writing in articles on trade war between China and the United States in order to avoid the influence of Chinese thinking, so that English learners can understand foreign thinking patterns more deeply, reduce some Chinese expressions that may lead to misunderstanding, and make communication between two sides more effectively.

Technical solution: Read a lot of different descriptions of the same incident in the Sino-US trade war. Combine with relevant literature and materials and analyze them from the perspectives of economy and culture.

Before 1st January : read some essays about the topic and consider the main context.

Before 1st March: write the main structure of the essay and use the supporting ideas.

Before 15th April : complete the finial version of the beginning report.
