1. 研究目的与意义

As we all know, language is the same with culture because they both cannot reach self-sufficiency. Therefore, one language must interplay each other to promote their self-improvement and self-development. It is can be seen that translation is the main form of the mutual contaction between languages. With the development of human and rising of globalization, people from different cultures and different languages have contacted more and more frequently. As a consequence, communicating efficiently and avoiding misunderstanding are becoming top priorities of our society. It is necessary and important of the language translation.

However, due to the difference between cultures, sometimes, although you can recognize the meaning of each foreign vocabulary, we still cannot always understanding correctly of foreign languages. So it is inevitable for us that during translation, we will make some loss in varying degrees, especially the translation between English and Chinese, because communication is based on the specific language and culture environment. It is the respective linguistic features and cultural background that make the translation become more and more difficult.

Trace back to the origin of the translation, we can see that it began from the New Culture Movement by Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao. They thought the existing language couldn#8217;t satisfy the social use, because it couldn#8217;t adequately express the more and more complicated social life and the new knowledge form foreign cultures. It was also one of reasons of the rising of translation. Actually, we have to say that it was translation that opened a broad road for the development of Chinese. However, due to the translation skills at that time were not so wisely, large numbers of foreign vocabularies swam into our country.

3. 国内外研究现状

Since the New Cultural Movement, some prominent figures in modern China have realized that classical Chinese and the vernacular could not satisfy needs of people#8217;s daily use. Therefore, to express abundantly the more and more complicated social life and expand the new knowledge from western countries, they set off a boom of translation. This move greatly helped our society become more and more advanced and make the communication easier. People who don#8217;t know the foreign language can also learn western knowledge by the translation. It did make a great influence on our society. Even to this day, there are still many people absorbed in studying the influence modern translation on Chinese language.

The first time we started to study the influence of modern Chinese language was Fu Sinian around the May Fourth Movement. To make up for the deficiencies of vernacular Chinese, Fu Sinain put forward the idea that #8220;Europeanized Chinese#8221;, a language better than the Chinese at that time, could be achieved by adopting patterns of western languages, including lexical, syntactical, textual patterns and figure of speech. Fu Sinian stressed that the Europeanized Chinese language was inevitable, and that within ten years there must be Europeanized Chinese literature. I think the direct influence which modern translation made on Chinese language is the rising of Europeanized Chinese.

In the different periods of Chinese history, scholars and translators provided different opinions on the issue of translation strategies. Before elaborating the development of Europeanized Chinese and its impact on the Chinese language, it is necessary and obligatory to firstly review some previous studies on the issue of Europeanized of modern Chinese, which might serve as a compass for further researches. The relevance between them also can be sensed and discovered.
