1. 研究目的与意义

No matter how many times I read the book Jane Eyre, I cannot help wondering why Jane became the big winner of life. Jane, this having an ordinary appearance, poor and pedantic background and a little bit stubborn characteristic woman, why she finally got true love and walked into a road of happiness? After reading many times, as I grow up, I can figure out the reason to some extent. Jane is a girl who is common but extraordinary. During her life, she kept pursuing independent and equality. When she was a child, she fought back to her cousin`s rudeness; when she was abandoned in the orphan, she dared to against teachers` injustice; when she served as a teacher in Thorfield, she was not shameful for her poor background. And the most distinct personality of Jane and the most important reason why she is loved and worshiped by so many people, especially female, is her braveness of chasing after true love. When she realized her sincerity to Mr. Rochester, she put all her attention on her lover regardless of her poverty and background. When she knew the truth of Rochester`s marriage, she left her lover without hesitation. This is Jane, a brave and decisive girl. Besides, in the process of getting along with Mr. Rochester, she put herself in an equal position. She did not act lowly because of the great difference between them. Facing the propose of the famous pastor, she firmly refused. In the end, she rushed to Mr.Rochester`s side and accompany her blind and having-nothing-at-all lover. With the rapid development of the world, females play an increasingly important role in our society. Compared to the past, females have great professions and high social status instead of just being a housewife and spending all the day dealing with trifles. However, females, as well as males, are facing more complicated situations in their daily life, including jobs, marriage and so on. Nowadays, money worship and gastronomy are filled in the society. To get a good job, people hook and brook; to live a comfortable life, people turn back to their true love; to raise the position, people bend their waist. It seems that people are lost in this voluptuous world. And the reason why I choose to study on this project is that I want to show people a right way and wake their asleep souls. I hope that by analyzing Jane Eyre`s characteristics and experience, I can make people feel her pursuit of independent and braveness to true love. Especially, I want to make Jane Eyre a standard and model to women in this new era and encourage them to be autocephalous and chivalrous.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

In this article, I will focus on three major literary themes of Jane Eyre. The first one is independent and equality. It is divided into three parts, Jane`s resistance in her aunt`s house, Jane`s independence in Lowood and Jane`s pursuit of equality in Thorfield. The second one is different persons` viewpoints of marriage. It will concentrately analyze Mr.Rochester`s change on the viewpoint of marriage, Jane`s viewpoint of marriage and St.Jhon Levis`s viewpoint of marriage. The third one is Atonement and forgiveness. This theme will be expressed by showing Jane`s suffering from her relatives, tragic results of Jane`s aunt and siblings and Jane`s forgiveness towards her aunt`s atonement. As for the first theme, I want to encourage people in nowadays who bend down for money, power and force. Jane did not have an outstanding background. But she dared to fight against inequality. Jane did not have a great amount of wealth. But she fed herself without belittling her selfhood. As for the second theme, I want to help people make correct choice in the road of finding love. Frankly speaking, Jane Eyre had nothing except her wisdom and individuality. She was not beautiful. She was not rich. She was even a little bit stubborn. But she won the love of her well-know lover. She tried her best to keeping catching up with her real heart. In the process of loving others, she stuck to be equal and absolute, using the fascination of her personality and the power of knowledge to win the true love which was incredible in that time when social background was praised. On comparison, the pastor proposed to Jane Eyre for the reason that Jane was suitable for the position of the wife to pastor not on the base of love. In contemporary society, people breach their real feeling in the face of power and status. Is this not a kind of #8220;going back #8221; of our civilization? Only in ancient times, people emphasized greatly on a marriage between families of equal social rank. As for the third them, I want people to be kind and learn to forgive. Jane Eyre suffered a lot in her life. Especially, in her childhood, she was torment by her aunt and cousins. But when she knew that the aunt was going to die, she chose to forgive all the bad and malicious things she did to her. It is true that people have to learn how to forgive. After doing this, you will experience the real happiness and satisfaction of inside. 3. 国内外研究现状

By comprehensively viewing the domestic and foreign history of studies on Jane Eyre, there are many different genres of thoughts, including feminism, post colonialism, religious doctrine and so on. The main studies are feminism and narcosynthesis, Marxism, post colonialism and narrative way .
