1. 研究目的与意义
Runaway is a masterpiece by Canadian female writer Alice Munro which won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The value of this book lies not only in its thinking about people''s real life, but also in its classic narrative techniques. This article will study the novel--Runaway that has the same name of the book and is included in it. Runaway uses a lot of narrative skills, such as the combination of explicit narrative and implicit narrative, the flexible change of narrative time and space, multiple narrative perspectives and so on. Through these narrative techniques, Munro made the whole novel aura, which is different from other satisfactory novels. At the same time, different narrative methods play a very important role in reflecting the personality of the characters and highlighting the topic of the article. By studying the narrative methods of this novel, I hope to have a higher understanding in the character image and the analysis of the topic of the novel.

1. Analyse the narrative strategies of Runaway, including the combination of explicit narrative and implicit narrative, the change of narrative time and space and the diversity of narrative perspectives.

Alice Munro is known as a master of contemporary short stories, and her short story creation is called perfect writing. The study of Munro ’s narrative strategy is the core way to grasp the complex connotation of the work and explore the writer''s creation. The study of Munro and her works by western academic circles has been carried out gradually since the 1980s. Academia''s research on Munro mainly focuses on three aspects: the narrative strategy of Munro ''s works, the thematic research of Munro ''s works, and the feminist research of Munro and her works.
Compared with foreign studies, there is still a gap between the studies of Munro in China. The narrative stylistic theory provides a broader reading perspective for appreciation of literary works. From the narrative and stylistic perspectives, it is more intriguing to explore the theme, character, and psychological process of the work together.
