1. 研究目的与意义
Movie is an important form of visual art and it has played a significant role in intercultural communication. The quickening globalization makes more and more western movies flooding into the Chinese film market, in order to meet market demands movie translation seems particularly important. However, as a high generalization of the content of the film, film title concentrates on the theme and brings out the crucial point, so that translation of film title is very important. The translation of film names is not only a simple message transferring, but also a commercial activity, which aims to pursue market efficiency and business profits. A good translation could be the icing on the cake which can attract the reader''''s attention and also promote artistic value. At present, although the study about E-C film name translation has made some achievements, it still not keeps up with the development of the times and constantly changing levels of appreciation. Furthermore, many facts illustrate that there are still plenty of shortcomings in film title translation, for instance a given name has multiple translations and the good and the bad are intermingled. This paper attempts to study the translation of English movie names from the perspective of Skopos theory and reception aesthetics, and further discuss the methods of translating.
2. 研究内容和预期目标
Research contents: Title is the soul and essence of a movie, so excellent translation of film name is particularly important especially when it is shown in other countries. First of all, we are supposed to understand the current situation of film titles translation at home and abroad through collecting related references materials. And then this paper will discuss the effective translation strategies by analyzing a large number of excellent film title translations.
Problems to be solved: First of all, film translation is an emerging field so that it has not attracted enough attention at present. Therefore, it is very difficult to translate for lack of theoretic instruction. Then analyzing each kind of different movie name translation from the perspective of teleology and Reception aesthetics and discussing the effective translation strategies from audience acceptability, cultural background and language habits.

3. 国内外研究现状
In the field of film translation, due to the late beginning, translation theory is not mature. The research on film titles in China officially started in the 90#8217;s in the last century. In 1997 He YueMin wrote an article Problems and Countermeasures in the Current Western Film Translation, and then the study of film titles translation in China gradually increased. However, the methods and theories of film title translation are still vague, and most of the researches remain in the stage of empiricism. Professor Qian ShaoChang, the School of Journalism and Communication of Shanghai International Studies university can be said to be one of the outstanding experts. In his paper Film Translation-the Increasingly Important Field of Translation, he called on the translation community to pay attention to film translation. In this paper, he points out the importance of film translation, and analyzes the differences between the language of film and the language of literary works.
The early film translation began in the West, and now the accomplished experts in translation are mainly Western scholars, especially European researchers. In the 90#8217;s, the western film translation began to enter a golden Age and had a breakthrough development. In 1991, Luyken collaborated with four European film translation experts to publish O-vercoming Language Barriers in Television: Dubbing and Subtitling for the European Audience, the book analyzes the different translation modes of the language conversion in the film translation from a professional perspective, and enumerates a lot of data about quantity of translation works, preference of audience and so on. After 1995, with the rapid development, the related theoretical research obviously increased and Gottlieb can be said to be the most systematic scholar so far. From the perspective of linguistics, he studies the film translation in detail, studies how to translate film works, and also is insightful on the teaching of translation.
4. 计划与进度安排
Before November 10, 2022, making a plan and going through all the related references materials to determine the topic of the thesis;
Before November 30, 2022, setting up a research framework and formulate plans to complete the opening report by looking through the related references materials, such as documents, essays, literature works, and so on. References are not less than 15, including at least one English literature;
Before March 18, 2022, completing the first draft of the thesis and submitting original papers on the date for intermediate inspection;
