1. 研究目的与意义
As a city’s business card of name, the translation of terms and materials in tourist visits is the direct embodiment of a city''''''''s internationalization degree and cultural taste, and plays an indispensable role in enhancing the city''''''''s image. However, in reality, there are many mistakes in the translation of signs and introduction words, which makes it difficult to attract foreign tourists and spread the essence of Chinese culture. An accurate and perfect tourism English translation system is seriously needed to the spread of Chinese culture and to meet the needs of social and economic development, which can reduce the cultural and linguistic gaps between China and the West. With a large number of problems and errors in tourism English translation system, the quality of translation can’t be accepted by many specialized foreign experts and native English speakers, which makes Chinese tourism culture more difficult to go out to the world.
Thus, it is highly necessary and urgent to improve the accuracy and entirety of tourism English translation by collecting and analyzing the terms and materials in tourism translation. In this way, we are more likely to realize the sharing of translation achievements and also accelerate dissemination of Chinese culture and reduce the cultural differences between China and Foreign countries.

In The field of Translation in China, the translation of tourism materials used to be a long neglected problem. It was not until the early 1990s that the research in this field began in a real sense. Although in recent years more and more researchers have turned their attention to the translation of tourism materials and achieved some results, the results are still not satisfactory.

At present, most of the researches on the English translation of tourism texts focus on cross-cultural communication and text function enhancement.
