1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

The “stream of consciousness” is used to express the flow characteristics of consciousness. It is a psychological vocabulary that was first proposed and used by the American psychologist William James. "Literature Stream of Consciousness" is to express people's thoughts and feelings and the most direct psychological changes through the form of literature. It is first seen in the Anglo-American literary world from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The political and economic background of its emergence is turbulent. Therefore, "stream of consciousness" has become a medium for people to express their deep feelings of subjective feelings.Dostoevsky, Proust, Joyce are outstanding representative writers of this genre. They use their own works to push the expressive skills of consciousness flow and the stream of consciousness to the peak.

During the past two centuries after William James raised the concept of

2. 研究的基本内容与方案

This paper mainly focuses on the use of streams of consciousness in And Then There Were None which makes it more vivid ,reliable and even becomes a ground-breaking work of this genre.By analyzing the hole process of the murders on the isolate island,tasting the hidden techniques of streams of consciousness in the novel,this paper will explore the reflection of humanity and justice evoked by the use of streams of consciousness.This paper is mainly developed by analyzing the classic case driven by stream of consciousness and the inner characteristics of the main characters driven by the flow of consciousness.This paper will focus on two main points.First is the concrete embodiment of the stream of consciousness writing.The most expressive stream of consciousness in the novel is that the writer arranges the murder in the context of a virginity, suggesting that it will eventually “Then There Were None”.Another manifestation of consciousness in the novel is that whenever there is a murder case, the remaining survivors have their own persuasive reasons to rule out their suspicions, and the murder case is not as simple as the appearance.The stream of consciousness in the novel is also manifested in the purpose of all the reasoning, in addition to identifying the true murderer, obviously is in order to try to get rid of their own suspicions, not simply to solve the case as a motive, no justice.The other part is the inner characteristics of the main characters driven by the flow of consciousness.Such as inner monologue.Inner monologue is the ultimate expression of the judge's letter, which is also mixed with the illusion of the judge's plan to murder. Therefore, the characteristics of the literary language of consciousness flow are revealed.Besides,Vera's condemnation of her own heart turned into an invisible shadow, always lingering around her, so that she was later in the hallucination and finally committed suicide. Here, the language form of free association is used.Moreover,although everyone has denied their crimes, their hearts have been condemned by their conscience. The protagonist's large psychological description takes care of the Aesthetic Features of "Liquidity, Hybridity and Rendering" in Stream of Consciousness Literature.Under the guidance of this main goal, various resources will be searched to identify the topic for the paper, including foreign and national journals and published essays, and holistic analysis of these raw data will be conducted and concluded in the paper, serving as the supporting material of the author’s individual study and research into the subject matter.
